On the viewing stakes, I really like comedies. There you have it, I'm an all-day sucker for comedies. Nonetheless, I have standards: this means that I liked the Naked Gun movies, but couldn't stand the Police Academy ones. I liked The Adventures of Ford Fairlane but not Robin Hood: Men In Tights. Your mileage probably varies, and if so just remember that because I'm the Arbiter Of All Good Things, you're wrong.
I like serious movies, too: Silence of the Lambs (and read the book a year later, and became a Thomas Harris fan) and Schindler's List (for a different perspective on the same story, read the book by Thomas Kennealy) are head-and-shoulders above the majority of the pap around.
I love "Blue", by Krzysztof Kieslowski. I've seen "Red" and "White" but wasn't as impressed. I must have seen "Blue" more than five times since 1994.
In October 1994, I read the book "Censored: The Story of Film Censorship in Britain" by Tom Dewe Mathews. I have information on the book, quotes and photographs available.
Of course, I have no time to write up the movies I see. Cope. If I wanted to live my life on the web, I'd want to be PAID for it too.
