Conclusions
Many Perl programmers write single node systems.
Most multi-node systems have all nodes in Perl or under control of the programmer.
Simpler domain-specific solutions are easy to write.
More complicated more complex solutions like XML and CORBA face a chicken and egg problem.
They will only take off when prepackaged code is already available and trivial to use, and we're not there yet.
