Object Frameworks
DBI and Tk are the most complex frameworks we have.
Most things we tend to do with procedural programming techniques.
Even our OO modules like DBI don't require subclassing or customization. See Conway:14.
We lack the middleware of Java.
Too easy to reinvent the wheel! And we have some middleware (DBIx::RecordSet).
Complex OO systems are coming, in the form of the Zope-alikes. But they're keeping up with the Joneses, not necessarily itch-scratching.
