You must change your life!

Change.
Your life!
Dancing in the night, laughing in the dark while all around they are closing in.
You never knew, oh, no, you never thought. Not here, not in the USA. It could never happen here.
But it has.
And it is and it will.
Your faithless prayers have not been answered! Your sleeping eyes have not been opened! Your thick clothes and black sunglasses do not hide your body or your eyes! Your deaf ears do not lie to you-- the words your mouth forms, smoking, are empty!
And now I say that you must change your life!
No, no, no, don't listen to him, look down, look away, but ladies and gentlemen. Ladies and gentlemen of Chicago, I have seen the light of the truth! I have been bathed in the blood and risen up from the grave! It was black as a cemetery at midnight when I took the late-night train to this city...and I looked out...at the lights of this city and I said to myself...here is a city where the truth can be found. Here is a city where the people need healing. HERE is a city which has burned and risen up! HERE is a city DAMNED for all eternity but struggling for salvation! HERE is a city whose money and power and people whirl around it in ever-widening spiral labyrinths!
But that must change! Give away all that you own and all that you are and follow the truth and wash yourself in the blood can I hear an A-MEN?

No! No 'Amen's! Don't shout at me-- turn those voices inward. Listen to them...you did when you were a child and made sense. They cry out to you. They cry out for you to save them and pull them out and hold them in your arms. Follow that music you know you have been hearing. Follow it to the river, to the reaver, like a rover, you who are ravers.
Yes, I rant. Yes, I shout as a lunatic shouts, but who else will tell you? Who else will tell you the truth?
The newspapers? Words within words.
The television? Lights within lights.
Your eyes? Your ears? Worlds within worlds.
But the truth, the truth will set you free. These words will touch your brain, but you cannot heal your soul without the truth! You cannot continue to live this way, and that's why I say you MUST change your LIFE!
The rich and powerful will be brought low and the poor and humble will be exalted! The mighty will bow down to the weak! The left and right hands will be switched! What is forgotten will be known and what is known will be forgotten! The dead will rise up from their graves and the living will lie down in them! Here they come now. There they are.
